Terms of Use
Effective October 26, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Adrian Bartholomew ("we", "us") for your use of the Friendly Streets app and website (the "Service"). By tapping I agree in the app, or by using the Service, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old. You may not use the Service if we've previously suspended or banned you.
2. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
You agree to follow the Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms. In particular, you won't post anything that:
- threatens, harasses, bullies, stalks or intimidates anyone;
- is hateful, discriminatory, obscene, sexual or profane;
- contains anyone's personal information, or could be used to identify or locate a person;
- is false and harmful to someone's reputation;
- is spam, advertising, or contains links; or
- breaks any law, or encourages anyone else to.
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We may filter, hide or remove any content, and suspend or permanently ban any user, at any time and without notice, if we believe they've broken these terms. We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours.
3. Your content
You're responsible for the messages you post. You keep ownership of them, but you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute them as part of the Service, and to use them to enforce these terms. Messages are visible to other users. You can delete your messages at any time.
4. Use of the Service
- Never use the app while driving. Pull over first.
- Friendly Streets isn't an emergency or reporting service and isn't connected to the police. If someone is in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
- Don't try to identify, contact or confront the owner of a vehicle outside the app.
- Don't interfere with the Service, get around its filters or limits, or access it with automated tools.
- Plate recognition is automated and can be wrong. Check the plate before you post.
5. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your data in Settings → Delete my data. We may suspend or end your access at any time if you break these terms, or stop offering the Service. Sections 3 and 6–10 survive termination.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't endorse and aren't responsible for content posted by users, and we don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or reputation, arising from your use of the Service or from content posted by others. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to US $50.
8. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you post or your breach of these terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Kansas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
10. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store:
- These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence to use the app is a non-transferable licence to use it on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection, privacy or similar claims.
- If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and aren't on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms (such as your wireless data agreement) when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll ask you to accept them again in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
